Two Kenwood TH-D7's, the one on the right has had a non-OEM GPS unit added to it.
Now superseded by the TM-D72


Released in 1999, this is Kenwoods first APRS handset.
Dual band (2m/70cm). Power output: up to 6W depending on battery / external voltage.
Some of the early version 1 units won't work with newer gps units, see here for more information.
The GPS unit on the right handheld is a polstar PGM-248.

Hints and tips

  • Early TH-D7 won't work with newer GPS units, they expect to see a NMEA 1.5 sentence from the GPS unit.
